Where is The Courteous Cad?

You’ve been flooding my mailbox with that question for many months now. I promise I’m going to address it.  First, though, I want to say how thrilled I am at the enthusiasm you’ve shown for my two Regency series.  Thank you!

If you haven’t had a chance to read both The Affectionate Adversary and The Bachelor’s Bargain, I hope you’ll start your holiday season off with these two books that have delighted so many.  Please don’t miss out on English Ivy, Wild Heather, and Sweet Violet, either.  Characters from both series will find their way into The Courteous Cad, and Miss Pickworth is certain you’ll want to be “in the know” about all the latest gossip.

The Courteous Cad is definitely on its way!  The book was delayed by a God-given opportunity for me to co-author a series with Dr. Gary Chapman (The Five Love Languages, The Five Languages of Apology, The Four Seasons of Marriage).  I’ve now completed all of these books, which we are calling the Four Seasons series, and I will soon return to writing Regency books.  Meanwhile, be sure to read It Happens Every Spring, Summer Breeze, and Falling for You Again.  (Watch for the final book, Winter Turns to Spring, in summer 2008.)  These stories are set in Missouri, very near my own little community!  While the inhabitants of Deepwater Cove are contemporary, they’re every bit as fun (and full of mischief) as those who live in Regency England.

There’s plenty to do while you wait for that dashing cad to make his appearance.  We’ll be hosting contests, updating news, and adding more letters to Miss Pickworth (she’s had a severe bout of the vapors lately).  And don’t forget to take a look at my backlist on the “Books” page and make sure you’re up-to-date.

In February, Steeple Hill is launching a brand-new line of historical romances with my book The Briton.  Believe it or not, I wrote this story more than 25 years ago, and it is being published now, for the first time, as my 50th published novel.  Doesn’t God work in mysterious ways?  In May, my contemporary suspense series, Haven, begins with Thread of Deceit (Steeple Hill).  And don’t forget about the summer release of Winter Turns to Spring (Tyndale House).

But for now, it’s the most wonderful time of the year!  I pray that as you gather with friends and loved ones, God will make Himself clearly visible in your life.  If not for the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah, we would have no reason to celebrate.  Join me in praising His holy name.  Glory, glory, glory to God!  And on earth, peace and goodwill to all.

Love,

Catherine Palmer's fresh new covers combines stylized Regency period with romantic fiction in the English Ivy Series
“Mrs. Palmer, I have enjoyed reading 10 of your novels in the last 2-3 months. I am fascinated by your technique in using many cultures, countries, and fascinating characters. I particularly liked the English Ivy series because I think you capture the 1800's period of England so well. Your writing style gets me into your plot so quickly, and I can't do anything else but read for several hours each day. Keep up your wonderful work!”
